Dr Janette Brooks is a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in women’s mental health, and experience across public and private sector mental health services, as well as postgraduate psychology education and training.
She supports clients experiencing a diverse range of life circumstances and challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, eating disorders, infertility, grief, perinatal mental health, perimenopause and menopause. Her approach is warm, authentic, trauma-informed, and compassionate. Janette brings clinical expertise while respecting each client as the expert in their own life. She tailors therapy to individual needs, working collaboratively to create a strong therapeutic alliance and a safe space where her clients feel seen and heard, unconditionally. From there a deep self-understanding and meaningful change is possible.
Over her 25-year career as a psychologist, Janette has trained in a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including: Psychodynamic Therapy, Circle of Security (SoC), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBTE), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Personalised Integrative Therapy (PI Therapy), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
As a qualified yoga teacher, Janette may also incorporate somatic (mind-body) therapies such as breathwork, yin yoga and meditation.
At Hillarys Therapy Hub, Janette brings deep knowledge, presence, and care to every therapeutic relationship, supporting her clients toward insight, self-compassion, and growth.
As a Board Approved Supervisor, Janette also offers clinical supervision, mentoring and professional development to support psychologists throughout their career.
