What services do you offer?

Dr Janette Brooks provides support for a wide range of presenting issues. 

However, we have a current waitlist for new referrals and new clients.

How do I get started?

Reach out through our contact form or send Dr Brooks an email. Dr Brooks will discuss the option of being added to the waitlist or seeking alternative support.

What is you consultation fee?

The fee currently recommended by the Australian Psychological Society is $311 for a 45 - 60min consultation. The appointment fee for a 50+ minute consultation at Dr Janette Brooks Psychology is $300.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

Non-attendance at a scheduled appointment without providing any notice will incur the full fee.

For appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, a cancellation fee of $150 may be charged if the appointment can not be filled.

What are the payment terms?

Full payment of the consultation fee is required at the completion of each appointment. Payment can be made via credit or debit card with your authorisation. If you have a current Care Plan your Medicare rebate will be processed on your behalf at the time of payment.

Do I need a GP referral?

You are welcome to see a Clinical Psychologist without a referral (privately) however if you would like to claim the medicare rebate then you need to be referred by your GP under Medicare’s Better Access scheme otherwise known as a Mental Health Care Plan (or Eating Disorder Care Plan). If you provide a Care Plan at the initial session, you can claim $145.25 rebate and able to attend up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year with a Mental Health Care Plan or 40 sessions with an Eating Disorder Care Plan.

Consultation fees can also be claimed through some private health care funds ‘extras’ cover. Your provider can advise you of whether you are eligible for a rebate for clinical psychology services and the rebate amount.
